How to wash and care for your baby
Taking care of your baby's toilet is essential for his well-being and health. Here are some tips to help you carry out this daily task gently and efficiently.
1. Prepare the environment
Before you start washing your baby, make sure you have everything you need on hand. Prepare a changing table or a safe and comfortable place, provide yourself with clean diapers, unscented wipes, a soft towel, a mild soap specially designed for babies, moisturizer and clean clothes.
2. Facial cleansing
Start by gently cleaning your baby's face using a clean, damp cloth. Use gentle strokes and avoid rubbing too hard. Clean the eyes from the inside out using a cotton pad soaked in lukewarm water.
3. The bath
When bathing, make sure to maintain a comfortable water temperature for your baby. Use a mild, fragrance-free soap to gently clean his skin. Gently wash his hair with a shampoo specially designed for babies. Make sure you support your baby's head well while bathing.
4. Umbilical cord care
If your baby still has his umbilical cord, clean it with 70° alcohol using a sterile compress. Be sure to dry the area thoroughly after cleaning. Consult your pediatrician if you notice signs of infection or if the umbilical cord does not fall off after a few weeks.
5. Skin care
After bathing, gently pat your baby's skin dry with a soft towel. Apply a gentle baby moisturizer to keep your baby's skin soft and supple. Be sure to choose a cream specially designed for babies and avoid scented products.
6. Nail care
Your baby's nails can grow quickly, so it's important to trim them regularly. Use baby nail scissors with rounded tips to avoid hurting yourself or your baby. Cut the nails straight and be careful not to cut them too short.
7. Dress your baby
After washing, dress your baby in clean, comfortable clothes. Make sure to choose clothing appropriate for the season and avoid materials that are irritating to your baby's sensitive skin.
By following these tips, you will be able to wash and care for your baby effectively and safely. Remember to always show gentleness and tenderness during these special moments with your baby.
